End User Features

  • PINpoint periodically collects documents and contact lists from your corporate systems, and pushes them to designated BlackBerry devices.
  • PINpoint stores the information in the BlackBerry's non-volatile cache memory, so it is available to the user even when your corporate systems are down or unreachable.
  • Users access the information by simply clicking on an icon in the handheld home page.
  • This information is automatically refreshed ("pushed") as per schedule, or can be refreshed ("pulled") on demand.
  • User can press 'F' to find a contact, or scroll through the list using the standard BlackBerry navigation keys (space bar = page down, shift + space bar = page up, 'b' = bottom, 't' = top, 'r' = refresh).

Documents

  • PINpoint can collect documents from internal or external systems, and push them to the appropriate end users.
  • Supported document formats include HTML, PDF, Word, Excel, text, images, RSS news feeds, XML, CAP and EDXL.
  • For easier administration, documents can be grouped into collections, which are then assigned to specified Groups of recipients.
  • Upon launching PINpoint on the handheld, users are presented with a menu list of Documents, followed by a list of Contacts. Users simply click on a document name to open it in the BlackBerry browser.
  • For ease of navigation through multiple documents, the menu list is automatically embedded at the top of each document.
